Nice for the price
This was a good find. The wood is very light and could break easily if your not careful putting it together. Once itâs built, itâs sturdy and it works well for our turtle.

Solid Product w/ Caveats
I needed something to serve as a duckling brooder after another option failed. This product had all the features I needed so I took the chance despite other reviews.First, it was very easy to put together. Took me about 45 minutes with a standard screwdriver. The pieces are labeled and the directions are decent. It’s easy to clean & move. Convenient access for changing food & bedding.Prospective buyers should know a few things:-This cage is absolutely not waterproof. It is not appropriate for ground contact and will not protect your animal from rain. If you decide to attempt this you’ll need to seal the wood and use tarp or pressure treated lumber underneath. I have it under cover on concrete so this wasn’t a concern for me.-I can’t speak for mammals but it’s perfect to brood up to (6) chicks or ducklings for the first 4-6 weeks of their lives, but that’s it. It’s not tall enough for mature chickens or ducks.-A heat plate is fine, but this does not appear safe to use with a heat lamp. The metal bars can melt.

I had to put the floor on before I finished putting the sides together bc it wouldn’t fit. The instructions were vague, but helpful enough that I got it put together in about 2.5 hours. Must have a drill to put it together came with extra screws. The wood will crack if you’re not careful, but I needed something for Yumi that didn’t flood like her plastic cage bc she doesn’t know how to drink water I’ve tried several different bottles so I gave up and got her a different cage. Yumi approved!

I did a little customization by painting a little desert mural on the back panel before I put it together. In his previous enclosure which was glass, I had put a painting behind it, and I had started to notice heâd come out just to look at it! So I had to paint him his own scene when I got this :)It took a bit of time to put it together but it really wasnât bad, and the directions were pretty good. I didnât have a power drill so I did it all by hand and it still wasnât bad. Itâs very sturdy when all together and looks so nice! Even my little grump of a tortoise is very happy with it.In the big open part I put down some self-adhesive pieces of tan felt to give him some grip but also to be soft. And in the fully enclosed part I put a good inch and a half of playsand, then a couple inches of coconut bedding and topped it off with a layer of cypress mulch. He loves digging and burrowing down into that.Tortoises should have their basking spot to be around 100 degrees F and between 70-80 degrees F on the cool side. This enclosure is big enough for him to thermal regulate properly! The basking spot is right at 100 degrees, the middle is 80 and the opposite side is just over 70. I was worried it was going to be too small but itâs actually perfect!I highly recommend this if you need a nice, sturdy, good-looking small enclosure.

Update: a large peice of wood just fell off like straight up cracked offto screw in,wood is like cardboard so not very sturdy and it came with a big chip as pictured,directions were not the greatest knob and latch super cheap and flimsy,Size is good got it for 5 baby leopard tortoise,daushand for size

Itâs cool donât get me wrong but who ever pre cut the parts itâs all off and uneven looks crooked as anything I tried to center everything the best that I could but eh o well I think itâs over priced but I do like the size and the wood and itâs a cool structure/design.
