   Excellent cage with plenty of room & ability to expand!
   As many reviews have stated before, this cage arrived promptly and well packaged. It provides ample room for Syrians or dwarfs and is entirely customizable with an opening to add tubes/connect to other cages. The top level can also be removed if you so choose but I find that my ham likes the option to be able to “spider-hamster” off the top bars of the cage. My only critique of the product is that the water bottle provided was faulty and did not work as it should’ve, so it was fortunate that we were monitoring the water level daily. However, a quick call to the MidWest call center and a replacement bottle was promptly dispatched. Overall, an easy-to-clean/use, durable item for an affordable price – would recommend!

   Perfect! Very well-made, so it’s safe, and a generously sized habitat for 2 mice!
   What I love about this habitat is how large it is! I bought it for 2 female mice and they had plenty of room, between the two floors and the house that’s included. The bars are 1/4″ apart, so there’s no worrying about mice squeezing through, and giving pet owners peace of mind. The bars have a safe, rust-free coating, which can’t be said for some of the other habitats on the market. I had two mice when I was 15 and had them in one of those cheap, colorful plastic habitats, which are very difficult to clean and end up smelling very bad. I love the Ferplast “Favola” because it allows for tons of ventilation, not only on the top level, but the open middle allows for air flow to the bottom level, too. The deep base allows for pets to exercise their digging and nesting instincts. Now that one of my mice has passed away, this habitat is absolutely gigantic for my one mouse, which I love! She has so much room to do here thing. I think she would’ve had a more difficult time grieving if she’d been in closer quarters. I found it very difficult to attach the wheel during and after cleaning. It attaches at a very awkward angle, and if it’s attached too low, it can’t really turn once bedding is added, so I donated it. I use a wheel from another habitat and attach it on the top level. I’ve also had great success installing those wooden perches that they make for bird cages. I love that the bar spacing allows for me to add accessories and is compatible. Other great features are the textured floor on the upper level and the texture on the ramp, so animals have proper traction. The side locks are sturdy and dependable, as well as the door on the roof of the metal part. I haven’t had any issues with cleaning– in fact, this is the easiest habitat to clean. None of the parts (whether wire or plastic) absorb odor! For the bars, I typically use a 99% water wipe. For the plastic floor and base, I use an unscented, non-toxic baby bottle soap. If my mouse’s musk seems particularly strong, I swish around white vinegar and thoroughly rinse it with water so there’s no vinegar smell to bother my mouse. I’d purchased a separate water dispenser in case the included one dripped, but the one that is included doesn’t drip at all and my mice really enjoy using it. I always check to make sure the tube is working since it doesn’t drip. It’s really quite perfect. I also provide a little jar of drinking water and my mice use both. Again, the house is great! It has edges on the bottom so it doesn’t slide around. To clean it, it comes apart and I put it in the dishwasher to sanitize it, same as the red bowl. The bowl ended up being my mouse’s favorite food dish towards the end of her life, as she struggled with mobility. It even has a little textured area, like a ramp, for seniors to get in and out comfortably. I am so pleased with this habitat and would purchase it again!

   Update: I originally ordered the open box version of this that amazon offered and had a horrible experience which you can read about below. I would not recommend doing that with this cage. I received a free brand new replacement Because I called customer service and when they offered to send me a refurbished cage I said no, I want a new one because of my bad experience with the open box (which was supposed to be new anyway) and to my surprise they agreed and gave me a coupon for the difference Plus refunded me fully when I returned the damaged one. So I got the new cage for $15 off the price at the time. So now I’m happy with customer service, just not impressed with the open box experience.I’d highly recommend this cage for dwarf hamsters. The bars are very close together, there’s plenty of space for our hamster to run around, and no way of escape. The house and food bowl and wheel all seem sturdy and nice. The water bottle is very tiny and it leaks from the spout when he drinks and leaves a puddle. I also like the upstairs and downstairs design of this cage and I think it’s a safe height so he doesn’t die if he falls down the hole. He did that immediately but I guess he actually jumped over the side (There’s a hamster height lip around the hole) because he was scared when we first put him in, but the height isn’t much and he’s fine. He actually did it again so maybe he enjoyed it! I also really like the fact that the floor is not wire. It’s solid plastic. I haven’t cleaned it yet but everything comes apart and goes together easily.The only cons to this cage are that it is plastic. I don’t feel that this type of plastic will hold up over time. It’s very brittle stiff plastic. My suspicions were confirmed when I received the original open box cage which had obviously been either used or sitting in a warehouse baking in the heat because the plastic was cracked and shattered. It’s that kind of plastic that cracks easily. The new one I have now is in perfect condition and as long as it doesn’t sit in the sun I don’t see how it will get that way. But you need to be careful when taking it apart. It’s brittle. For the price, I think this kind of plastic is really aggravating. But I felt like this was the best design I could order in this price range for a dwarf hamster and a wheel included, and I think that’s still true even after all the mess I’ve gone through.—ORIGINAL REVIEW—I ordered this a week ago and it finally arrived today. First of all, I don’t know why amazon suddenly takes a week to arrive when I have prime, but anyway, my product arrived damaged. As a note, I purchased the “open box” version of this product to try to save $10. I find all hamster cages insanely over priced for what you get so that was my reasoning. The description of an open box item was simply that: it was opened and returned but there should be nothing wrong with it. I don’t care about packaging as long as my item is new and Not damaged. The box is fine so it wasn’t the delivery. The plastic corner and also along the lip of the plastic bottom where it meets the wire top of the cage is also shattered. In all honesty it looks like someone used this cage and all it’s parts for a month or six months and then returned it. Either that or it’s been sitting in a warehouse somewhere baking in the heat and it damaged the plastic. It’s cracked cheap looking plastic. Even the hamster wheel has marks on it where the plastic looks like it’s been rubbing against something. There’s scratches all over it. So now my only option is to return this and get my money back on my amazon account, not back to my card it looks like. That’s annoying. Also I don’t want to return it. I want a replacement. It looks like a good cage design which is why I bought it. I’m in desperate need of this cage, my hamster is camping out in a rigged fish tank and waiting a week was already inconvenient. Thanks Prime, for nothing. My other option is to call the manufacturer. It’s Sunday so I’ll have to wait till tomorrow, but I don’t even feel like dealing with that aggravation. This is why I pay for prime, so I can have fast shipping and easy returns. I guess buying the open box wasn’t worth it. As you can see in my photo whoever looked this over before shipping (if they even did!) left the opened bags for screws in the accessory bag, basically garbage. It just shows how little they cared about anything.Another note: the water bottle is extremely tiny. I heard this cage was great for dwarf hamsters which is why I got it, so maybe this is a normal size? Not sure but thought I’d mention it.

   Nice sized hamster cage
   I actually bought two of these cages. I am impressed with the large living space our hamsters have. Also room for toys, easy to clean, and comes with basic equipment needed for hamsters. Definitely great value for the price. The only thing I would change is the door. There is only one and it’s small. I wish there was also a large door.

   OMG!!! Love this cage!! The delivery was fast, only 2 days and it was well packaged! Thank you AMAZON!!The cage is huge, lots of space to run around. I love the middle section, it’s a hard plastic and so easy to clean.. each night when I take the top part off, which is also easy to remove, and then just take the plastic middle and dump out the excess food and wipe it down and put it back and voilà all clean again. The bottom part is a clear plastic but I find it fragile, you have to be careful when washing it because it can crack easily… 🙁 that is my only complaint about the cage! Other than that, my hamster loves it, she’s a Syrian hamster, only 2 months old, not full grown yet! The wheel that comes with the cage is small, meant more for a dwarf hamster or mouse, but no problem I replaced it with a comfort wheel I already had purchased, the water bottle is small as well and plastic, works great but I prefer glass so I replaced it with the glass one I already had and also food dish is huge so I put a smaller one!! Oh and another great feature, on one side there is an area where you can connect tubes, which I have ordered to make the cage more fun!! :)I totally recommend this cage, great size, super easy to clean and not a bad price for what you get!!Enjoy!

   The cage is good size for our hamster. However, the wheel is terrible! The wheel mechanism is not smooth and it’s too heavy for the hamster to run/ turn. I need to buy a separate wheel. It also arrived with a crack but it’s too much trouble for me to return it.

   Mi mayor preocupación al momento de elegir casa para mi hámster era el tamaño, no soy un conocedor de los hámster pero el mío tiene un tamaño considerable, por lo que las jaulas ‘normales’ rápidamente se quedaron chicas para el, sin embargo con esta jaula tiene espacio suficiente para unas carreras cortas, escalar y resulta que le gusta brincar del piso superior al inferior y volver a subir rápidamente para volver a hacerlo. Por alguna extraña razón no le gusta usar la rueda por lo que estoy considerando quitarla, pero en si estoy muy contento con mi compra, y mi amigo roedor también.
