Customers say
Customers like the effectiveness and ease of use of the pet pest control collar. For example, they mention it’s great not having to deal with fleas and ticks, and it comes with clear instructions. That said, some complain about the durability. Opinions are mixed on scratching, quality, value, side effects, and effect on ticks.

Works well
This product keeps the fleas and ticks off of my dog. It is less expensive than other products.

Not a fan of chemicals but this works
I have 5 dogs and live in a very warm part of the US. So I have to make sure i have lots of flea deterrents on hand. And this is the best I have found. It seems to work every year so the fleas aren’t getting used to it. And the dogs aren’t allergic to it. It’s just great not having to deal with fleas and it’s even better having a bunch of comfortable dogs.

Advantix 2 works great. It truly repels as advertised especially the mosquitos …
Advantix 2 works great. It truly repels as advertised especially the mosquitos which is good since those are the thing to worry about heartworm. Frontline is getting tolerant, I always have far better results from Advantix 2.For anyone looking for full 4 weeks of perfect coverage, it just doesn’t exist. Any topical solution will weaken as you near the 4th week but I have found Advantix 2 to be GREAT. This is a great Seller and cannot beat the price. This is my second time purchasing from this seller on Amazon for price but also quality of product not sold nearing expiration. Expiration doesn’t MEAN BAD it means Weaker.OK… SO! What about Irritated Skin!?Don’t BUY IT if your worried about that! Some dogs are extra sensitive or ALLERGIC. DONT buy a topical solution if that is a huge concern. IT DOESN’T MAKE THIS A 1 STAR product because your dog is allergic or sensitive. For god sakes, you are putting poison on them and that includes in any brand unless your getting a prescription for a Pill. Then there are other possible side effects. Accept That. Anything you choose has Pro and Con’s.My dog has sensitive Skin. She will get a little pink when I use ANY topical solution. However Advantix 2 is well known for being kinda strong. So how do I manage it for my Furbaby??? Easy. Take the time to put the solution on in several places. NOT JUST ONE BLOB, because you’re too lazy.I skip the base of the tail. I never understood this. My dog can lick there all she wants. But I go from base of head at the back of the skull and ever couple inches I squirt a little down till I get between the shoulder blades and even so much as a little bit below that on her back. This helps spread it out and not irritate her and make her itchy. Then again, my pup has allergies and she’s on Zyrtec daily. But when I use to not spread it out she would seem uncomfortable, now she is fine with it. She is just sticky for a day. A Con is Advantix 2 is a little greasier and you get More of it. But frontline barely gives any and never seems to work past 2 weeks. So take your pick! After a day, I brush her out and there is no more sticky. I wait a week instead of 48 hours to bath her. I don’t notice any lack of flea control after a bathing.I really think this product works for anyone in areas where Frontline is losing its effectiveness. Also, heartworm is a billion dollar scare tactic. The idea of it is terrifying however, it is also expensive and for anyone struggling to spend that kind of money per month on their pup. Or those who are concerned with the drug’s effect on the body long term, or those that are allergic. Advantix 2 has that added benefit of the mosquito repellent if you’re religious in your re-applications.So… yeah. You’re going to see pictures of Poor Pink or Red skin. Statistically, there will ALWAYS be a % of animals that have an allergic reaction to inactive ingredients. However, as an owner of a dog with skin problems. Just be smart about spreading out the application and don’t go putting detergents on your dog “washing it clean” because their skin got a little pink or irritated. THAT is what worsens the situation. And I have gone through skin and fur issues with my pup to know this. My dog is allergic to the grass. I know skin irritation. Or should I say She Knows.

Dries out my dogâs skin, not very effective and annoying to apply.

Effective On Dg with a Thick Coat
Our 4-year old dog has a very thick coat and spends a lot of time outdoors. He can’t take oral treatments because of seizures. This product is easy to apply and works well.

It works in Texas!!
If you are in the south you know what the vets say about fleas in our parts being immune to these products and them never being strong enough. I have a pretty bad infestation right now. I tried getting prescription meds but it’s been over a year since I brought my pets in so I got denied. This helped kill a lot of fleas my dog had. I was literally combing up to 100 fleas off of them daily until I used this. This weened out the fleas to a select few that are still jumping on them from around our property. Unfortunately my area is still untreated so it didn’t completely combat the problem, but a wonderful thing about this product is you can reuse it again after a week if needed, which should be extremely helpful in eliminating them entirely. Compared to Frontline this works wayyyyy better for me in Houston. I like that this helps combat mosquitoes too which we need in this area. I’m not sure how effective against them it actually is though. My dog still barely likes being outside since he always feels like a bug is trying to bite his butt. It also is not really waterproof unfortunately. I should give it four stars because of that, but I’m just happy it’s working in my area! But yeah, one reason I have to order more now before I should need it…I have a pool and my dog goes into it multiple times a day sometimes. She obviously rinsed off a lot of the meds because her problem is a lot worse then my other larger dog who rarely swims. It also dries up nicely and not greasy, and my dogs were a lot less sensitive to the smell and application of this compared to Hartz Guard, which left them extremely greasy, even after a few days.

Not the best for weights of dogs
This is one of the better ones if you canât afford the prescription prices at the vet. The tubes are very large and itâs very sticky. My dogs are 25-28 pounds and have to buy for large dogs which goes up to 55 pounds. The smaller size isnât enough which is a much better amount of chemicals. It does not cover heartworm!

From infestation to Zero fleas
We tried to do without the flea medications this year. I used natural soaps (with cedar and lemongrass) and gave baths once a week. Diatomaceous earth outside. But our girl was still picking them up! And I’m not talking 1-2 fleas. We were getting 10+ every day with the flea comb, and then she would go outside and we would get even more. The fleas were just impossible this year. Within a day or two of the Advantix treatment, our girl was flea-free. One came off her in the bath yesterday, and it’s been just over a month since we did the treatment, so I would definitely say it is needed monthly during flea season. She tolerated the treatment well. She hates being wet and she hates any kind of sprays or oils on her (usually rubs up against the couch to try to get anything off), so I applied and then took her for a walk while it dried. She came back happy.
