Get this cage! Xl cage review
Idk what the other bad reviews are about but so far this cage is going to be fantastic for my rats. Pretty straight forward to put together if youâre used to putting cages like these together. The instructions could be a little clearer but I was able to figure it out without too much extra work. The tray shelves are kind of annoying to put in after it was mostly assembled. If I had to rebuild this I probably would have put the trays in as I went. Everything seems good quality. I think this cage would be good for other small animals like ferret or something similar to a rat. I think for rescues that have kittens this could work as a temporary housing situation but would probably have to be modified a bit with the tray shelves and such. I only have two complaints. 1 the hammock included didnât have adjustable straps to adjust the height it would hang at. Easily fixed I just put 2 knots in each string hook to shorten it up. 2 the tray at the bottom I wish was deeper and possibly able to hold bedding. The wire rack you insert over that prevents it. I am not sure if removing that rack and having open access to the bin will work for weight and for gaps. It simply slides in there so security also. But I think in time could try something. Overall so far this cage seems awesome. If youâre in between which one to get or are hesitant, this one is it! I will post an update how the boys like it and how it holds up.

Good size and quality for price!
This is my first ferret cage that I’ve bought since 2016, when I dropped $250 on a cage that isn’t much larger than this- that took 4 hours to put together and had to have numerous spots hammered to fit together. This cage surpasses it in ease of assembly, the side doors are super helpful for cleaning, and the shelves are super customizable. The instructions aren’t super detailed but it only took about an hour to put together. Didn’t use the bottom grate, and even still the bottom tray will make for much easier cleaning. The shelving locks in tightly, and there’s plenty of ramps to do whatever setup you’d like. All in all would 200% buy again, my elderly ferret loves his new digs!

For our Chinchilla
The perksâ Itâs extremely sturdy, metal is well made, & I believe itâll hold up very well for a great amount of time! The shelves sit tight & feel secure, though this does make it slightly difficult to set in place. A lot of room for accessories & additional small wood shelves to jump & rest. I also enjoy the size, itâs compact enough to not take up a lot of floor space, but itâs plenty of cage space for playtime of exploring the multiple levels. I feel like itâll be easy to clean with the bottom pan tray. The could be improvedâ The directions couldâve been more clear, but all in all it was put together fairly easy. The hardest was the shelf levels because of tight spaces. The hole openings of the floors for the ladder are small, chinchilla fits but is snug, we may widen the openings ourselves with hand tools, he is overweight. Biggest downfall is door openings are small, it makes set up difficult, like the shelves, but also just to reach comfortably around entire cage isnât the easiest task.Iâd purchase again.

Great cage! I will be keeping this one
I love this cage. My 12 year old and I put it together in less than an hour. We have a pair of dwarf rats. They can’t get through the half inch spacing on the bars. It is plenty of room for two dwarf rats to chase and play. The latches are easy to operate with one hand. Our cats love to watch the rats, but their paws won’t fit through the bar spacing so it is effective at keeping them out. I have noted that the rats stay to the higher levels most of the time anyway.Once the screws are tightened, it seems quite sturdy. Do make sure to assemble with the screws loose and tighten once all the panels are in place. The panels are not labeled, but it only took a minute to figure out which ones were which. I’m not sure if we put the little drop down latch that keeps the bottom tray from sliding out on right. The pictures were vague. We made our best guess. I tightened one up so it does not move. I tightened the other enough that it takes a little bit of effort to disengage it to slide the bottom tray out for cleaning. I did not want to risk a cat pushing the tray out enough for the rats to escape. I left the wire piece out of the bottom tray as it’s better for rats to be on solid floors. An access door in the top would be nice. I have short arms so reaching in to wipe down the platforms from the front doors is a bit challenging. It would also make hanging climbing toys a bit easier, but at this price point, I am very happy with my purchase. I’m not sure how long the fabric ramp covers are going to hold up, but they are nice for now. The solid plastic ramps will be ok for rat feet once the covers wear out.I would buy this cage again, but probably won’t have to because it’s pretty solid.
