Cat Crack started when Mike decided to give his two adopted cats catnip, & found joy and laughter watching his and his wife’s cats go into a fueled frenzy of kitty acrobatics – rolling, flipping, and tightrope walking (we might have made up that last one).

Worked
I don’t own a cat, but I do have a stray that hangs out at our house. It’s a love/hate unique relationship and sometimes I feed it when it looks sick. I went out of town and my partner bought a tiny cat lounge chair for our front porch, for the stray cat, as well as started feeding it daily. I know, what’s the point of this story, but just hold on…. No matter what, my partner couldn’t get the cat to use it’s new lounge chair and it really became an obsession of ours to get the cat to use its new furniture.I figured maybe if I tried some catnip it’d entice the cat to at least go near the lounger. I know that some cats don’t respond to catnip, so I was taking a chance. However, put a small amount of cat nip on the chair and then looked out my window to find the cat at least acknowledging the chair and curled up around the bottom of the chair, again, not in it.The cat hung out by the chair for about ten minutes hanging out on the ground stretching away, which is kind of unusual for it to be so chill for being an on-guard stray. So, product works, packaging is cool, came as advertised, and we’ve only used just a pinch of the stuff, not much at all and gotten some pretty strong reaction to it.Photo’s: So, the first photo shows cat chilling, second photo is a day later, I guess the cat left some catnip to come back to, and now he’s chilling again. He’s kind of a lazy bum now who seems to be having a pretty chill day, but, at least he’s close enough to take a picture next to his little recliner.Update: we re-ordered recently, thought I’d share black kitty in his chair, he hangs out there now….we put a pinch of catnip on every 2-3 days, it’s his new hangout.Add’l Update: Sometimes when I haven’t been around, the cat becomes a creeper and stares at me as I open the garage door. Added photo of it glaring at me as garage door was opening until I put out more catnip. I mean, he won’t let me pet him and he hisses at me, but, it seems we now have a mildly abusive relationship to his advantage.Oh, and he is in the chair all the time now.Add*l, Add*l update…it’s been a few years later, I still order the stuff. I think Black Kitty is the same Black Kitty, it’s been up for debate, but he still likes it and will frequent the chair quite a bit. Does he still hiss at me? Absolutely. Does he give me any affirmation? Absolutely not. Do I still feed him and give him cat nip, and in return does he still frequent our porch? Yes. I still haven’t had a bad batch that some people seem to reference.

Yes, it’s expensive but my cats LOVE it
I have 6 cats and all of them love nip but they usually throw up after with the cheap stuff. I’ve been giving this to them almost every day and they get the zoomies or roll around for a while then nap but no one has lost their lunch yet. I got the big jug and keep a spoon with it to control how much I scoop. I’m pretty sure that I accidentally spilled too much of this, my cats would be out of their minds so be careful not to dump too much.

The name “cat crack” is exactly what it is!
I don’t know exactly what is in this catnip that isn’t in other catnip, but my cat absolutely LOVES this stuff! Everything I take out the container, she starts meowing up a storm and dancing around my feet / attempting to climb up my leg to get to it!This comes with a pretty decent amount for the price, and it’s the best catnip we’ve ever bought (at least according to my cat).

Gimmicky and Good but greedy
We have bought this several times the last five years. Reliable in that our Cats like it and seem very satisfied with potency. The quality of freshness obviously good but container lacks air tight seal so we put it a ziploc bag. The biggest complaint is the price. The price keeps going up. Not happy with that.

Okay but has splinters in the mix
I like to crush the catnip between my fingers and spread it on scratchers, etc. I noticed that when I would crush the catnip, I would get small splinters in my finger. That has never happened with any other brand I’ve used. It worries me since my cats like to eat the catnip and I don’t want the small pieces to hurt their mouth. Unfortunately, I won’t be buying this again because of that.

Cats love
I have four cats who aren’t always the best of friends. My nine year old boy is scared of everything and everyone, including his own sister. Put some of this in a stretcher box. My old boy got over there first, got in, sniffed, then proceeded to roll around like a crazy man talking the whole time. While doing this his mortal enemies approached and he didn’t even care. Container is a nice size with a good amount in it. Filled to the top so you get your money’s worth. Once my old boy has his fill of the nip my other three had their turn and enjoyed it too. Ended up ordering another jar!!! Anything that can turn my chicken boy into a brave stoned lion is worth it.

I personally liked it because of the gimmicky name and product packaging but what does a human know?My cat absolutely hated it! He would rather eat durian then touch this with his clawed paws.

Disclaimer: our cat is a totally unique, odd and a complete weirdo. It kinda makes us love him even more tbh.In all honesty and fairness while looking online for dried catnip the brilliantly named Cat Crack definitely caught my attention, made me for real lol and is the major reason I bought this product over the othersâ¦even though it costs far more than pretty much every other product. Plus itâs a Canadian product and we try to support businesses that create and sell products made in Canada ð¨ð¦The packaging is not great. It comes in a very cheap plastic container with a screw on lid and an even more cheap looking label that looks like it was made on a 90âs style printer and is nowhere near being placed straight or centred. Not sure if this is a positive or negative but the catnip is very fine, light weight and filled to the very top of the container so when you unscrew and remove the lid the top few centimetres of CatCrack go flying everywhere. Was also very surprised to find that there was no safety or anti tampering seal across the jar opening but maybe thatâs because Iâm conditioned to there being one on the vast majority of human products sold.Bottom line: Does our cat enjoy/love CatCrack? Yes, yes he does and very much. Would he enjoy/love any brand of catnip? Wholeheartedly yes. Would I buy it again? For my cat absolutely not. But I would buy it as a funny gift to give a friend for their cat. Solely because of the awesome name.
