News to Me!
I’ve had cats over the years, but I never realized how they could be trained in so many areas. My cats were always quite content with doing whatever they pleased – thank you very much! 🙂 This guide is quite eye-opening. Of course, one of the risks of having a cat outdoors is that they can get loose and be in danger from cars, etc. This guide discusses how you can train a cat to a leash. News to me! If you have cats, you’ll find a lot of helpful information in this handy guide. Enjoy!

Very thorough and insightful
This book goes into a lot of depth regarding a cat’s nature and understanding a cat. This is important when training. The book doesn’t skim over anything, it goes into detail regarding training problems. basic training tips and more advanced training ideas for specific situations. I think cat lover’s will get a lot out of the book. It does address litter training, training regarding scratching and a whole host of other issues. Very insightful book!

Simple and to the point
Its a simple book that covers the most common problems a cat owner faces. You can read the book in just a couple of hours, which is good, but some topics would be better to add more information.

Don’t Bother
Litter training: if a cat isn’t going in the box don’t yell at it but give it treats when it does. Scratching: spray the area it scratches with repellent. Really?? I wish I had saved the $10 and handed it to any teenager in Petco who would have responded to these issues the same way. I bought this book purely for the litter training aspect and I learned: take her to a vet or just have patience. Great thanks. And honestly I was a little put off by the way in which it feels like the author is trying to convince the reader to love their cat even though it’s a cat.

Has Some Good Advice
I must admit, based on the photo, I was hoping for some humor dealing with kitty. Alas, the writing style was not humerous. Humor aside, I read this book three times before rating it. I was disturbed by the author’s frequent insistance that an owner should assert dominance over Kitty. That has not been my experience. Kitty, according to scientific research I’ve read, seems to look on humans as a confused mixture if mamma cat/kitten. Perhaps, then, something other than dominance is appropriate. My main objection was that I could find nothing on the author’s qualifications. Ms Moore does not indicate that she is a veterinarian, an animal behavorist, or even an experienced cat owner. No cases were cited. I did not find a Web page for the author, however, I had no interest in doing any type of in-depth search. I do like the author’s frequent urging to play with Kitty to relieve boredom and tire it out.

I will be honest, I was a little skeptical at first about training your cat! Iâve had many cats and dogs over the years and I never took the time to train any of the cats that I had. The biggest mistake I made was the belief that cats just canât or donât like to be trained. I was wrong, this book was an eye opener for me and written in such a fun way. Good information that I havenât seen elsewhere. I am already seeing benefit from it, Great book!

If anyone has ever told you that cat’s can’t be trained- ignore them. This book is proof that they can be and it’s not as complex or as time-consuming as one might assume. This book was nothing short of an eye-opener and I’ll be putting its advice into practice over the next few weeks. Highly recommended.

A clearly written and practical book. It is well structure to help guide the reader. My twelve year old has been comfortable using it, to guide her, while looking after and training our ten week old kitten. This book is exactly what we were looking for. Thank you

I’ve just got my first two kittens. This book is quite repetative but as a complete novice to owning cats I personally found it quite interesting and informative. Some bits are quite obvious and not as in depth as some may hope but for me it gave an insight into all aspects of owning a cat. It was easy to read and has given me confidence in some important areas of caring for my two. I would recommend but mainly to people with little to no knowledge of caring for cats.

Very little value from this book – there are large spaces between each line, no summary at the end of each chapter, and the writing style just feels fluffy and drawn out. Coupled with no index to quickly look up an item, this is probably only partially useful to someone who has never owned a cat or had any experience with cats, even then, it is not a practical or easy read
