  1. Immilling

    It works well
I bought this because my dog (1 year old) Dane-bull pulls when walking. He is 70+ lbs and all muscle. I have a bad back, and his strength makes walking him painful. While he doesn’t like it, I like that he doesn’t pull when wearing it. I like the padding for the snout, and how easy it is to put on. Over time it does loosen a little, so I have to readjust it every month or so. This isn’t a muzzle and it doesn’t hamper my dogs ability to eat or drink when it is on. When using this head collar walks are far more enjoyable.

    Amazing
Adding this has made walks so much more enjoyable. German shepherd puppy (55 lbs) walks with us without pulling. He doesn’t particularly like wearing it but has gotten used to it. He learned immediately that he can’t pull. Though he hasn’t learned that when he isn’t wearing it unfortunately. The ring under the chin is the key. Tried a different brand that had a clip. That was useless. If it doesn’t have the ring on the slide don’t waste your money. This is worth every penny.

Helpful for walking dogs that pull
I’ve been looking for a halter-style head collar for my 2 50lb Standard Poodles. They pull on walks. A lot. Especially if there are squirrels, and especially if i’m walking both of them together. This head halter takes a few minutes to figure out how you are putting it correctly on your dog with the soft side against their skin, but so far it’s worth the trouble. My dogs don’t slip out. It’s more comfortable on their snout than using a slip lead and it reduces pulling dramatically. It’s not perfect, but it’s good enough for now. I have no idea regarding the durability, the soft fleece that goes over the dog’s nose does get bunched up, but again, for the price it’s a useful tool.

  4. CAROLYN BUSCH

    Runs large
I ordered a small medium. It was way too big.

  5. Rebecca Curry

    Too big
I order the size small for my dog based on the detentions listed in the description online. It was way too big for her and even on the tightest setting so slipped out of it. Also the straps are really wide for a size small and she wasn’t comfortable in them. I found another products for her to use and the size small has narrower straps so hopefully it is more comfortable for her. Also the design is very faded compare to the picture.

  6. Sherry Holder

    It fits
    Works fine

  7. Storgds

    Good quality
This no pull collar is really well made. My only complaint is that it was much too big for our dog. I got a medium for our 30lb dog and it just fell off. I think she will grow into it though, so not a big deal. I love the vibrant color!

Great for basic training not for reactive dogs
TL;DR version-I think this basket style nose collar could work on a dog who 1. Has a long snout 2. Is working on basic manners.I do not recommend it for short snout dogs that are working through leash reactivity. The long version-I have a 2 year old leash reactive dog. He’s a 30lb super mutt. For the sake of a visual image a golden retriever/cocker spaniel mix.I took him in as a foster when he was 6 months old, After he was returned for the 5th time we decided to adopt him ourselves. He was labeled as unadoptable due to so many returns from his reactive behavior. His reactivity is simply due to being pandemic puppy who wasn’t properly socialized. It takes 2 years to undo this antisocial anxiety in a dog. We have worked with trainers, behavioralists, and our vet to help him overcome his anxious reactivity. After a year of intensive training we saw a lot of improvement! Except when on leash. Walks were stressful instead of relaxing. We reached a point of asking about possible medication to help him over this last hurdle. At the time we were using a donut leash recommended by a trainer. The vet suggested the nose pressure type collar instead of the donut leash before we try meds because he was so young. We chose the gentle leader first and it worked great. Unfortunately it did leave marks on his snout where pressure was applied when he would react. So I bought this brand to alternate with the gentle leader so his snout wasn’t getting pressure in the same place every day. I figured I do the same thing with alternating my running shoes. At first this nose basket collar seemed like it would be the one I used more often. It was easier to get on him. He didn’t seem to mind the basket style as much as the gentle leader so he wasn’t as wiggly trying to get it on him. It seemed to fit more comfortably once it was on. So far so good! I should note that I did buy the wrong size at first and exchanged it for the correct size. The one I was using was the correct size.Leaving the house he was in a calm state of mind rather than pawing at his snout. Hallelujah we finally found something that’s going to work! Then we passed another dog….He was able to easily slip out of this nose collar. Fortunately he could only slip the nose section and was still wearing it around his neck. He’s only 30 lbs so I can overpower him when he’s frenzied and hold him against me until he’s calm enough to get the basket back over hisSnout. Rinse and repeat 4-5 more times as we walk around the block. My dog has a short snout, I’d say similar to the cocker spaniel dna he carries, and I think that was the problem. I did try to adjust the basket and collar several times to get a good fit but every time he could get out of it on his snout. Needless to say we are sticking with the gentle leader brand.I do still use this nose basket collar to train with in areas where he isn’t as reactive and only requires basic puppy training to not bark at neighbors or squirrels in our our front and back yard. I’ve had good success with it in training basic puppy manners. Sometimes I will put the basket on him but his leash is connected to his harness. The basket serves as a gentle reminder not to bark at his light triggers. With his big triggers (leash walking) I don’t even try to use this nose basket collar anymore. Despite it being more comfortable on him, it’s not worth risking a bite history imo.I hope this helps anyone in a similar situation. Don’t forget that it takes a lot of patience, training, gimmicks, and 2 years to undo learned anxiety. Don’t give up on your dog, just keep trying new things! For the price I do think it’s a good training tool to have for basic training.
