OMG… i should have bought this sooner.
I couldn’t wait to write a review for this so I may be premature and will update if necessary, BUT I haven’t even had it for two full days and am loving it. We have a vocal cat. I don’t mind the occasional meow or if she is letting us know if she doesn’t have food or water, but sometimes she just wants to tell us that she doesn’t like us sleeping late or napping or being behind a closed door and THAT… is unacceptable. I take it a little too personal I know, but when she sleeps all day and decides she doesn’t like when we want to sleep… WTF ??… I am a light sleeper that sometimes has trouble falling asleep and a couple loud meows from her, I am awake and angry. I even have a audio sleep head band playing white noise, but her meows can seem to penetrate them pretty easy when she is right next to the bed. When she goes into that ‘annoy us mode’ the only countermeasure was to get out of bed and toss her out on the back porch. Although she is a declawed indoor cat, I don’t mind setting her outside because the porch is covered, the yard is solidly fenced in and she is not a runner anyway, but I definitely don’t want to leave her out there all night if I don’t have to. Unfortunately, sometimes her annoying meowing is so bad, I have no other choice. Even on the porch, we can hear her meow constantly to come back in so she can annoy us up close, but the volume is much more tolerable on the other side of an exterior door.Enter the eXuby collarPROS(1) appears solidly constructed.(2) no disposable batteries !!! recharges quickly with provided charger.(3) pretty clear, simple instruction.(4) although this is a shock collar, it also provides a tone mode and vibrate mode. This is awesome, because by using them grouped together kitty quickly learns they are related and tones and vibrates mean something much worse could be around the corner. I think I will hardly ever have to use shock mode.(5) vibrate and shock have intensity levels so you can use the lowest setting possible that gets the job done and minimize kitty’s stress.SMALL CONS – two things i am not crazy about, but are so insignificant compared to the pros that I won’t even drop any ratings from 5 stars.(1) device has two channels, so if you are accidentally on the wrong channel, it won’t work. i suppose this is for people who have two annoying cats and you can work two collars with one remote… I can see for them this would be a huge plus.(2) Due to prong design, I do not want my cat wearing this 24/7. Mostly only when we are trying to sleep day or night. So i plan to put this ON or OFF at least once a day and the buckle style is a bit clumsy. It is also not choke proof. I would feel better with a breakaway collar and a click & lock type fastener. I will probably have to design this myself at some point.(3) a little pricey (79.99 for me), but if this thing last for even a couple years, I feel like it is worth it.You do have to get right fit on the neck. Not too tight to be jamming uncomfortably into the neck, but close enough to be effective. I do not plan to keep this on her when we are not sleeping. I know this cat. I know when she is going into singing mode and she has tried it twice with the collar and I KNOW it works. She was going into a singing session and I gave her the lowest intensity shock and she STOPPED mid meow and there were no follow ups. Our cat is pretty, but dumb as a bagful of hammers, yet it appears even she has learned instantly the meow game is OVER.now if I could only get one for my neighbor’s backyard dog.UPDATE: this morning I went to shut up my loud cat and there seemed to be no affect. Found collar unit was OFF. Turned ON and tested tone and seemed to work fine. Within a few minutes it was OFF again. I can only assume battery died although there was no red blinking LED like manual states. It may have been so dead the warning time is easy to miss. Now I am reading other reviews critical of collar battery. This has me worried. Remote battery life seems to be no problem, but collar stops charging for some people altogether and one guy said it is a red flag that instructions warn against charging more than 4 hours. He said this shows they are using old battery technology and is problematic. So this good product would be great if it had a good collar battery with battery indicator for it visible on remote. I can probably deal with charging every day or two if necessary, but I am afraid this could be the Achilles Heel with this product that I am otherwise very impressed with. Will be monitoring performance and return time window very carefully.

    Didn’t Work With Cat
I was so hoping this would help train my cat to stop howling. The beep is laughably worthless. So low in volume. The vibrations didn’t phase her at any level. Then I moved on to the shocking. Level 1,2,3,4,5. Nothing. Didn’t phase her on bit. I shocked myself in the neck with it at all levels and it can give a pretty good sting. I think the hair prevents good conductivity. I don’t have a hairy neck so I felt it. Waste of money. Save yourself some the hassle and just make it an outside cat. Put money into a nice outdoor enclosure or cat house with heating. That is next step for me.

    Confused
I may be using them wrong who knows. It doesn’t seem to stay on while on the cats. The part that’s made it easiest is the bell that comes on it. We got these so we could use the beeping to find them (we have to put the cats in a kennel at night or they won’t let us sleep, and we have 6 kids we can’t be kept awake all night) as well as we’re going to use the vibration to make sure they do not get on our table. We have no problems with them trying to get on our counters they never have done that, but they get on our table. We can not get them to work properly. It seems they shut off, and yes they’re charged and all accurate on settings. The beep could be louder as well. The very few times it did stay on and worked the beep was extremely low and hard to hear. The vibration is decently strong as well. That is good. We don’t use the other option. So I can’t speak about it. I only got it for the beep, and vibrations options. I think it needs some upgrading though. I’m not trying to sound rude. Just letting you know our personal experience with it. Thank you.

    Multiple settings and adjustability
This collar works well and gives option to beep, (vibrate or shock at different levels). The beeping is handy sometimes to help locate your cat. The downside is the battery life only lasts about a day and you need to remove the collar to charge it. I use it mostly on vibrate at a mid-level. I would not recommend shocking much because you will need the cat to let you put the collar back on them after you recharge it.

  5. Ladysandpiper

Great but buttons are hard to find
My cat scratches on my expensive carpets so I got this to teach her not to damage my carpets. As long as you use this in a lighted area, it works fine. If you try to use it at night (when my cat scratches) you cannot identify which button to press and can go from a sound to a shock if not careful. I suggest that the manufacturer elevate the “apply” button or mark it is such a way that using it in the dark is effective without potential shock to the animal.

    Wow, so far so good.
I got this for my very stubborn cat who won’t stay off the counters. Nothing has worked for long so I’m holding my breath but after the first hop onto the counter (which I was watching from a baby monitor cam 3 rooms away) I used the buzzer mode and he looked around like “what the heck”? He immediately jumped down. So far he hasn’t tried again but he has a short memory or just figured the world bends to his needs… Lol.***I did not use the supplied collar since it is not a breakaway safety collar and is made from plastic. I used a different one I made since I do that for a business and used the provided plastic collar to mark about 6-8 holes and then used a leather punch to make the holes then mounted the unit as per the instructions. It worked great and since my handmade cat collars are a lightweight cotton collar it looks a lot more comfortable. You could use a regular purchased collar I think. Just make sure it’s not too long for your cat since it needs to be able to be punched.Good luck –it’s a great training tool I think at least so far. I will update in a few weeks. ;)Ok. After 2 days–Update:He got used to the buzzer quickly after he realized it didn’t hurt. Tried the beep. It “kind of” works. The shock has no effect because of long thick hair. We will have to shave his neck. I will update.

it is still large for my small dog should be half the size for my dog is good for a short hair dog like a bull dogDalmatian etc.

  8. Stefen Cabana

Le shock ne fonctionne plus après 12h. Les autres modes fonctionnaient très bien.
