Best head collar, without a doubt.
***This is a long, detailed review based on my experiences with head collars and my large breed dog.***I have a 105 lb. malamute that likes to get in touch with is “ancestral side” and pull. He doesn’t chase anything, he just likes pulling. I have tried harnesses (as suggested to me by his breeder), but it made him pull even more. I then discovered head collars! I have tried three: The Gentle Leader, Halti, and Walk n’ Train by Coastal Pets. I’ll list some pro’s and con’s based of my dog and explain why I prefer the Halti over the other two. I bounced back and forth between the GL and Halti during my dog’s growth. He always fit the Halti better due to his long muzzle, but I couldn’t figure out why the Halti kept riding up into his eyes so I stopped. However, after using the GL for several months I found the old Halti and slapped it on. He immediately took to it better than the GL and I noticed that the Halti stopped riding up. But the major thing I noticed was that it was EASIER and more EFFICIENT to control him with the Halti. Why? I had experience with head collars.If you are new to the concept of head collars getting the GL might be more beneficial just so you get to understand how they work. Head collars never need more than a slight pressure pulling up to make your dog sit and calm him down. The GL does come with a great instructional DVD, while the Halti does not. Due to the Halti’s loose fit it may freak some owners out and scream “It’s going into his eye!” and quit as I did previously. DON’T. All that means is that YOU as the handler jerked the Halti to hard and fast. The only time that is needed is if your dog is lunging (which is hard to do even with a head collar). A gentle pull up will make his rump plop down. So, if you want to have your dog comfortable with is his head collar, have a head collar that is extremely effective buy a Halti and watch the video on the GL about how to use a head collar. Doing that will ensure a great walking experience.My ONLY gripe is that everyone thinks my dog is viscous because the Halti looks like a muzzle. It bothers me slightly so I am getting a different color. But in retrospect, you may want that so suspicious looking people leave you alone and possible muggers will bugger off. Sounds odd, but it has honestly helped me in some situations.You can wean your dog off of using the Halti if you want, so that you can just use a regular collar. But, I always use mine primarily because I am not a very tall woman and I have a big dog. It gives me that much more control of him (my boyfriend and dad can’t control him and they are both 6′).***This is a great way to control an arctic dog. They have the natural instinct to pull and this negates it and helps establish that ever battle of alpha with him.TLDR; Best head collar I have ever tried. Best collar for walking your babies
We have use this collar on two of our dogs. We have a 6 year old Border Collie that was so difficult to walk, that we gave up for a while. Then we purchased this collar and after 4 or 5 learning walks he is so easy to walk now, very little pulling if any.We recently rescued another baby from the pound. She was 6 moths old and was in the pound for 2 months. She was so difficult to walk on our first few walks and then we ordered this collar and now she is so much easier to walk. She is not perfect but she is getting better on each walk!I highly recommend this collar!

Sturdier than the optifit version
I purchased this collar to replace a HALTI optifit collar. The optifit collar has a plastic camlock that is used to adjust the size of the nose band (i.e. the part that goes around the dog’s muzzel). The plastic camlock broke on the previous collar when my dog lunged after a rabbit. This version has a metal ring that replaces the plastic camlock. That has proven to be more durable and I like that fact that it is essentially self adjusting for the dog’s muzzel size.

Works great for 60lb dog
This product has been put through a lot of use so far and is currently holding up well. I like that this has the clip to attach to a collar unlike the gentle leader version. I do with the part that attaches to the collar was a little shorter or adjustable though. Sizing was relatively simple. Ordered the size that we thought would fit best based on measurements but it ended up being a little tight in the jaw area so we exchanged for a size up. Have not really tested out the reflectivity, but it is not a very large area and with a very hairy dog not sure how effective it will be

Amazing Control for My Energetic Great Danes!

Great concept, poor quality
This collar has worked wonders on my pup (Basenji mix) and has allowed us to have great forested adventures together. However, I ordered the collar on June 26, it is now August 9 and I noticed it is fraying terribly in many locations. The return/exchange window is only 30 days from the time ordered. Please be aware of this. If you want to spend the $ on a product youâll need to purchase every 30 days, go ahead. Iâm going to look elsewhere for a better made one.

Works for our dog!
Weâve had problems training our rescue dog from lunging and pulling during his walks. He lunges at birds, lizards, butterflies. Pretty much anything that moves quickly. This action hurt our hands and stressed us in walking him.So, I searched for something that would minimize/control his head movement, and this seemed to fit the bill.After receiving the bridle collar, I reviewed the training video and applied those techniques to get our two year old dog familiar with the collar. I love that it has a secondary clip that simultaneously attaches to his collar. This helps keep our dogâs head from moving around, while maintaining control of the bridle collar with the leash.When we use it for our dog, his behavior/mannerism flipped 180 degrees. The collar prevented him from pulling, as it limited his head movement. And he actually became catatonic and wouldnât move once it was placed on him.l! It was pretty funny seeing that occur every time we placed it on him. (See attached photo. He just stood there in that place until I coaxed him to walk.)The material is very durable and stitched together well, along with the different colors for your choosing.

I got this Holty harness as I had one for my other dog and my new hairless dog needed something to keep him in line because all he did was pull. I know you have to be extra careful with the head harnesses. You canât do any quick jerks or you could probably seriously injure your dog so I always warn the grandsons if they are walking him to be careful of that. It seems to work well although it does work itself occasionally, so if you buy it, I suggest that you check it once in a while you should only be able to fit two fingers underneath of it, I attached it to a regular caller as well just in case it ever would become loose so that my pup doesnât get away. The harness works well and itâs doing a job itâs job, but my dog is just a little ripper and he keeps turning circles like heâs in the circus when heâs walking down the street. He also likes to really show off sometimes and walk on his too high legs , but more In tow without a doubt, then he would be without it. I would recommend it to anyone to use. It is a very good make and has padding around the snow and stuff, but please read the instructions so that you donât injure your dog in any way shape or form by using it when they pull. They often get snow later like numbness or whatever because they always pick up their Really fast when they get off because I think at times they pull and are getting an numbness

O modo de contenção do produto realmente funciona, com um uso o comportamento da minha cachorra mudou uns 80%. Mas o material da parte que restringe a mandÃbula do cão é extremamente frágil. Com menos de um mês estava toda desfiada pelo atrito com os anéis de metal e as presilhas de plástico. Pelo valor, esperava um pouco mais. Se eu soubesse que seria assim teria comprado essas de R$25,00 que a gente acha aqui.
