Surprisingly Effective!
I picked up “How to Clicker Train Your Cat: A Step-by-Step Guide to Teaching New Skills and Fun Tricks,” not really knowing what to expect, and wow, has it been a game-changer!This book is incredibly useful. It breaks down the process of clicker training in a way that’s easy to understand and follow. I was honestly surprised at how quickly my cats picked up new tricks using the methods in this book. I never realized training cats could be so effective! Each step in the training process is clearly explained, and the tips for teaching specific skills and tricks are spot-on. The book makes training feel less like a chore and more like a fun bonding experience with my cats. They seem to enjoy the learning process as much as I enjoy teaching them. The progress I’ve seen in my cats since using this book has been remarkable. They’re learning new things so quickly, and it’s amazing to see how they respond to the clicker training. It’s not just about the tricks; it’s about the communication and connection that’s developed between us.Highly recommend it to anyone looking to teach their cat new skills in a fun and engaging way. This is very beginner friendly. If you already have a clear foundation for clicker training, this will still give you a refresher and make sure your foundation is solid while also giving you a few new things to try you probably haven’t tried before.

Very helpful in lots of tricks and other things to train my cat in also.
I trained my 18mo. old Bengal cat to jump thru a hoop (her favorite), do a high five, sit on a green cloth table mat, and am working on training her to ring a bell (see previous review). There are instructions for keeping your cat off the counter, biting your legs, feet or hands, scratching furniture, as well as doing tricks which are the most fun. I haven’t done the others. She just doesn’t to those bad things much. However it is useless to keep her off the counters because she will get on them when I’m not around and at night anyway, so I just have to keep things she shouldn’t get in to, off the counters.

My cat and I are enjoying this!
I’m training my very smart 5 year old cat. So far she has learned to be attentive and to touch her nose to a pointer. My eventual goal is to use the clicker to be able to brush her (she is long haired and hates to be brushed so this would be great!) She begs to train sometimes. So I’m glad I bought this : )

3.5 stars
I was really excited to get into this training guide. The first few chapters were really helpful and set a solid foundation for me to get started. But as time went on, I found the exercises are sometimes a hit or miss.I end up watching YouTube videos and piecing together a strategy that works for my cat and me. Clicker training is not a one size fits all, but I appreciate that the author made it easy and accessible especially in the early chapters for everyday folks like me.
