We noticed our one year old cat was doing his business at the side of his regular litter box and most of it was going over the edge onto the floor. We ordered this in June of this year and it works great. Our cat likes to go around the edges and the high sides keeps it all inside. When we clean the litter tray, we just snap off the top, wipe it down with white vinegar, then snap it back on. The high sides also keeps the litter inside when he covers his business. Area is much cleaner!

The reason I decided to buy this particular litter box is because I wanted something with high sides that wasn’t completely covered. My kitten digs quite furiously in her litter box sometimes, and I found that the kind I had before (same size, but the height was what this litter box would be without the white part attached) would result in a lot of spilled litter all over my floor which would then track to the rest of my room. I had bought the old box recently for $4 from target and don’t really believe in spending more than $10 on a litter box, because I don’t think any box can last longer than six months because eventually the odor will sort of seep into the plastic. I only bought the Target box a month ago and the plastic has already picked up a foul odor even after washing (but I didn’t use bleach, which means I probably didn’t clean it as thoroughly as I could have). I don’t believe in using litter box liners, because I find that a box of good quality liners ends up costing as much as a decent, sturdy litter box, and therefore I can just replace the entire box rather than spending more money on liners and making the entire experience unpleasant for my cat, since there is no way her claws won’t scratch through the liner and get caught in it.I have noticed many negative reviews about the construction of this box. It seems however, that those people are either not using clumping litter, aren’t sifting properly before scooping, or haven’t filled enough litter in the box. Recently I discovered the sifting method and it has made life a lot easier. Before, I used to literally scoop the clumps out by digging. When sifting, what you do is tilt the box from the short side, and hit that side a few times, so that all that has sunk to the bottom (which usually won’t happen if you have enough litter in there) will fall in with the rest of the litter. Then you can use a spray (make sure it’s not citrus scented) cleaner or pre-moistened wipes to clean any residue stuck to the bottom or the walls that were previously covered with litter. Then, little by little use the scooper to bring all the clean litter back to tilted side, and the clumps will be easily visible and you’ll be able to pick them up without breaking them. You can then tilt the other side to see if anything is stuck on the bottom/corners. That way, you cover all 4 corners and honestly it doesn’t take more than 2 minutes. I have just one cat, but I do this twice a day and it’s no big deal.As for this particular litter box, it has made my life easier in that my cat is no longer able to spill litter all over the floor and the opening, where there is a depression in the white part, is wide and spacious enough for my cat to easily climb in and out. I don’t like the idea of covered boxes, because the odor stays inside, which means it quickly becomes an unpleasant place for my cat to be, and I am terrified of her deciding to use my floor as her toilet one day. Also, the scoop it comes with is way better than the scoops I had been using, because it is flatter, and I’ve found that those allow clean litter to fall out more quickly. Although I wish that the crevices through which the clean litter falls out were smaller, as sometimes the tiny pieces fall through as well, it’s still better than what I had before.The only reason I took one star off is because I expected this box to be a bit more spacious. My kitten is pretty small, and yet the first time she went in there, she got some poop on the white part, because when turning over, her bottom touches it; if the sides weren’t high, the size would be appropriate, because then, my cat would be taller than the sides and it wouldn’t feel cramped. She definitely adjusted to the higher sides quite quickly, because this problem didn’t happen again. But perhaps this box, even though they say it is large, wouldn’t be appropriate for a large, or even regular sized cat, since it feels a bit small for my tiny kitten. As much as I like the construction of this box, in the future, I will probably opt to just buy a Sterilite storage box with high sides and cut an opening into the side as many people do.

This litter box is a bit small for larger cats. I love it! The extra height is definitely working to keep litter from being scratched over the sides. I used to have litter all over the floor around the box. With this box I don’t have a problem. So much easier to clean up the area! Possibly the box being smaller helps keep litter in the box. A cat scratch/cover over the sides. They can’t throw it! Try it! You’ll like it!

Perfect Litter Box
I don’t currently have a picture of Drakos litter box. I purchased the large enclosed litter box because it gave my cat privacy and it had options you can easily lift up the front of it if your kitten or cat doesn’t like using the door and the top comes right off so it’s easy to clean. I clean my cellular box everyday and I change out the kitty litter about every week and a half, so I don’t have to deal with unpleasant smells and neither does my cat.Even if you weren’t to clean your kitty litter box that often or change the cat litter that often this litter box will aid in the prevention of unwanted smells.I also really like that it has the litter tracking deterrent bar, is has made a huge difference in the amount of kitty litter that is tracked. I have a designated carpet rug underneath the litter box so with that deterrent bar and that carpet the litter doesn’t track from that area at all.This is the first time that I’ve ever purchased a litter box like this and I’m happy that I gave it a shot I will now always buy this type.My cat is now 5 months old and this litter box is a good size for him I will probably try to find a larger one and I would also suggest to have one litter box per cat, especially if you have an indoors only cat only like I do.The litter box is made out of a great material it’s thick it’s stable it’s not flimsy whatsoever and I’m sure the type of kitty litter I use plays a part in this but there isn’t stickiness or clumps at the bottom of the litter box, it’s very easy to clean, and upkeep.- Skye

Wish the top would actually latch on to the bottom
The only reason I will not buy this again it’s because the top does not actually latch onto the bottom. It feels like it does and you’ll hear a little snap but it literally just comes right back off. It doesn’t actually latch on. I gave it three stars though because my cats love it it is their favorite litter box so they all keep going to that box only. They love that it doesn’t have a whole top on it so they don’t feel closed in. So I need a box like this because they like it so much. It’s easy to clean and I like the quality of the litter box and it doesn’t hold a smell after you wash it. I just wish that they would make it to where it actually latches on so when the cat goes to get out of it the top doesn’t come off the bottom

I have been using this Litter box for many years. I like the price, the depth and so does my cat….like anything that gets bombarded with cat urine…the plastic on the bottom will wear…I purchase a new one around once a year…I am sure it would last indefinitely…I do not use the plastic shovel as years ago I purchased a metal large slotted spoon which works well without breaking…so I have no comment of the plastic shovel that is included.

I purchased this litter box to replace another style of box, and I and my cat are both happy that I did! Super easy to assemble and clean, it’s lightweight but still a great size for my 16 Lb kitty to use! Would recommend!

Lo compré porque mi gatita estaba creciendo y su arenero ya le quedaba chico, además de que hacÃa mucho desastre con la arena (tirada por todos los alrededores). Pensé que quizá este no serÃa el más amplio para ella (gato mediano/ 6 kg), pero la verdad es que ha resultado práctico y desde el minuto 1 se metió a explorarlo, lo usa sin ningún problema, parece que disfruta su privacidad y la verdad se ha evitado el desastre de arena (aunque todavÃa hay un poquitito).La puertita de entrada se quita sin problema, asà como el “techo”, si descubres que es más cómodo para tu gato sin esas dos partes. Asà que me parece una buena compra por el precio y la calidad. El envÃo llegó en menos de una semana desde USA.
