    Leaks incredibly fast
I just bought this water bottle for my Guinea pigs because they drink their water so fast , so I decided to buy them a third bottle . It came undamaged and is very good quality better then I expected , it’s glass and has a nice attachment to the cage and fits snugly . But as soon as I hooked it up to the cage the water came spilling out like a water fall . I was very disappointed and sending this back . It has so much potential except for that leak .UPDATE: I tightened the cap tighter and it hasn’t started leaking this is a very good bottle

It was confusing… (READ THE REVIEW)
When I first got the water bottle it barely leaked it all, but after a week one day it just started leaking like crazy. I was about to throw it away when I was reading review and screwed the cap on extra tight. And then it started working perfectly no leakage not at all. So if you’re getting this water bottle and it starts to leak try screwing the cap on extra tight before you throw it away. 🤣 It’s good quality and fits on my cage really well would highly suggest.

Quality Has Gone Way Down Hill
Over the last two years I have bought three glass water bottles in the 12 ounce size. The first one I bought about a year ago in 2023 and it was just like in the pictures with a stainless steel cap and worked great. The other two I just purchased in June 2024 and they have plastic caps that do not feel like they are anywhere near as good of quality as the steel ones from the year before. I decided to give them a try anyway and the plastic cap makes it much more difficult to adjust the angle of the water tube itself as you tighten things – it wants to bind and not allow adjusting. But OK I can live with that – just an inconvenience compared to the old style. Next, when I went to mount the bottle to the cage the newer springs are now literally several times over longer than the one I received from last years bottle. OK – maybe that is better because too long of a spring can be adjusted shorter and maybe someone needs the longer spring so OK I’ll live with it as well. So I got the first one mounted. Then I go to rinse out and fill the second bottle from this 2024 order and there’s a hole in the bottle and water is leaking. There actually is a hole in the glass bottle as if it was formed that way. It is not a crack mind you – but instead a relatively clean hole about 1/8 inch in diameter. I’ll be returing the defective one and not buying these any more.

    Good quality bottle
Bought this for my 2 guinea pigs. It is very durable and high quality. Would recommend. It’s easy to use and set up. It’s a big bottle so you don’t have to refill as often. The guinea pigs drink well and if I tighten it enough, it won’t leak. Good value for the money.

    Great for my Chinchillas.
Easy to use and clean, and the cute turtle decoration inside makes it easy to spot the water level. My only complaint is that I slice my finger on the metal screw top every time I try to open it. I’m not sure if my bottle is missing a seal, or something to cover the harsh metal line, but I have to wear gloves every refill.

    Love these bottles
They do leak very little but I love that they’re glass, go for the bigger size!!

    Works well.
The bottles are great. The feeder mices i raise can not chew the glass and i no longe have to buy the plastic bottles on a constant basis. I have noticed they have nibbled on the fill cap but have not eathen them like any other plastic bottle. I guess it doesn’t taste as good lol.I will buy these again if I ever need anymore.

PLEASE READ so that you know how to use this DANGEROUS product
The design of this bottle has some inherent issues, which could cause dehydration and death of pets. I can inform you of the things we learned while using this the last one year:(1) There are **TWO** balls inside the tube, and ONE OF THE BALLS CAN GET STUCK AT THE WRONG END (nearest to the rubber stopper). If this happens, then NO WATER WILL FLOW after the first few licks. If you are cleaning the dispenser and see one ball on the end, AND a steel rounded blockage at the rubber end, IT IS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE THAT WAY. Use some force to push the ball back down inside the tube. KEEP CHECKING with each water change, because, for us, the ball got stuck after a year’s worth of usage, all the sudden, without warning.(2) Be careful how much you tighten the opening. Too tight, and the water cannot flow. We have found that, for optimal flow (without concurrent leakage), you must hand-tighten it, then flip it over and let it drip out for a minute or two until the water stops dripping. If it KEEPS dripping for more than 1-2 minutes, then tighten a bit more, until you find the sweet spot.(3) CHECK FREQUENTLY to make sure the water is flowing. Do this by tapping the end of the tube and make sure some water ends up on your finger. It HAS happened to us that tapping the end of the tube results in NO WATER, and furiously drinking gerbils when the bottle is reintroduced to the cage. The problem was a stuck ball as described in (1).If a person is aware of these pitfalls, and monitors to make sure the balls are not stuck, and the opening is not too tightly screwed on, and the water is always flowing, then this is a workable solution. Honestly, I’m tempted to use a bowl of water instead of this thing, given some mysterious cases of super-thirsty gerbils caused by NO INSTRUCTIONS on this product, and lack of experience on our part. However, I think we’ve finally figured out the physics on this product, and feel assured now that we know how to keep our gerbils hydrated.I’m giving it three stars because it works if used correctly, yet without instructions has the potential to kill someone’s beloved pet.

I have rats and always had issues finding good water bottles that didn’t leak or break after a few months of use. I’ve had this bottle for over a year now and it still works amazing. The quality is really good and I have no complaints at all. I never have 1 leak. As mentioned in some other reviews there is a specific way to tighten this bottle so if people say it leaks it could be because they tightened it incorrectly. You need to make sure everything is dry when screwing the top on as well, as any water around the opening of the bottle or in the plastic/rubber cover will prevent a good seal. When screwing the top on it’s best to start with the spout facing the flat side of the bottle, and then you hold the spout itself still while turning the plastic cover clockwise. After you feel you’ve tightened the cover enough you then turn the spout clockwise as well until it’s tight. This will take you a fair bit of trial and error to get right but after you get it once it’s so easy to do every other time. You want the tightened spout to be facing the flat side of the water bottle when you’re done as well. If your spout is tightened anywhere not facing the flat side then you should loosen and try again, it really is a lot of fine tuning to get it just right but once you do this bottle will not leak. It’s also really easy for rats to use, and I haven’t noticed my boys struggle to get a sufficient water flow or anything. The ball bearing moves easily for them as it is light and never gets stuck in the spout. The bottle is very easy to clean as well. Also the turtle floater is adorable, love that little guy (although be careful when emptying the water bottle in the sink as the turtle floaty is small enough to go down the drain). I highly recommend this bottle, especially to other rat parents.
