My cat went crazy for this! Bet itâs because of the catnipð¹. Assembly is simple but requires some strength. Itâs sturdy and perfect for larger cats. Plus, it looks great and matches perfectly with my oak sofa chair.

Well made, cats don’t like the texture
It is well known that cats are picky, I think mine might be the most bougie. Feels like half my mental energy is spent trying to please them. They relentlessly scratch my couch and chairs, and I was looking for an option. This is the perfect size, stands up perfectly, has rubber traction pads to put on the bottom, and is long enough for them to fully stretch out and scratch. It would be the perfect solution…….. but my cats don’t like touching it. It’s a scratchy, sisal rope/burlap texture, great for scratching nails. But their delicate paw pads are too soft apparently. Don’t worry, I wont learn my lesson, I’ll buy them something else next month.

Cats use it, but it could be waaaaaayyyy better
The cats will use this scratching pad, but only in the horizontal position. If on its end against the couch, it falls on them when they attempt to scratch.But because the rods holding the fabric can rotate, the cats sink in it and only use the very bottom. At this rate the bottom will wear out in a couple months and the rest will be fine.And I tried flipping the direction, but the middle support is not exactly in middle so the rod doesnât fit in the sheath.

Wobbly surface that my cats HATE
I bought this to replace the super expensive cardboard scratchers that my cats love but which make a huge mess. Since they like sitting on things to scratch, my intent was to use this in the angled horizontal position.However, whatâs not clear in the photographs is that the sisal fabric is not a solid surface. Rather, itâs suspended between three dowels. Therefore, the surface is saggy. My cats may sit on it but canât get a solide footing to really dig their claws in as itâs too wobbly. Plus, they donât like sitting at an angle.But Iâm stuck with it as the box says that it canât be returned once opened.

Nice help for an aging cat
Our cat is about 14 or so. Sheâs very active, but at night I would see her struggle to gauge jumping up to get some food, as it has to be elevated since we have 3 dogs. I was picking her up for a while but I couldnât always be there. I needed something slim, sturdy, and on an angleâ¦essentially a staircase she could use. I noticed she was climbing a cat tree by pulling herself up, so when I saw this I thought it was a good fit. I was right, itâs perfect for ours needs and she seems to love it. Doesnât make her feel old and it makes it easy for her to eat!

I got the large ramp scratcher. Assembly is required. The sisal mat has three pouches in the back which are supposed to fit over three sticks in the frame. If I put the center stick through the center pouch, the whole thing was out of whack and assembly could not be completed. The pouch may not be in the correct place. I tried using only the two pouches on the ends, and it was better.Of course there is no one to contact to request a correctly made sisal mat and no option other than to disassemble the whole thing and return it to Amazon, which I was not about to do. Be warned. We’ll see if the cats bother to use it at all.
