My cat somehow managed to knock the top off of my previous water fountain, which meant he wasn’t able to drink water. I decided it was time to invest in a sturdier option, even though it was a bit over my budget. I wanted to ensure my cat had access to fresh, clean water and move away from plastic bowls, opting for the stainless steel tray and ABS (BPA-free) tank instead. Iâm going to be honest, I didnât think I was going to like this fountain, but the wireless pump drew me in enough to try it. Iâve had numerous fountains – different brands, different materials – over the past 10 years. Some were more expensive than this one, some were less expensive. So, as I write this review, Iâm using the experiences Iâve had with ALL of those fountains for my comparison, and Iâve had the PetLibro for about 2 months now.FIRST: Set up – The set up of this fountain is SUPER simple. The instructions are clear, but you really donât even need them. Everything is intuitive, and the fountain really only fits together one way. You canât even put the motor in backwards thanks to the notched design that makes it fit neatly in the bowl.SECOND: Operation – Full disclosure, Iâve only used the constantly on function, so I can only speak to that. It stays plugged in, so I donât use the cordless function, though I do like that itâs an option. The water flow is excellent, and it is very quiet. The lack of a window to monitor water level is what kept me from purchasing this sooner. I didnât think the the red light that notifies you when the water level is low would be noticeable enough, but it really is. And surprisingly, the motor shut off when the level is too low actually works. When operating, the fountain is VERY quiet. I donât hear any motor sound at all, and very little water sound. Refilling is quite simple – you can remove the bowl from the base, remove the top and fill it per the instructions. I know the instructions say not to just top off the water by adding from the top, but honestly, as long as you donât overfill, I donât see why you canât do that in a pinch. I have four small dogs, so we have to refill at least once a day, and it doesnât need to be rinsed out every day, so I do sometimes just top off.THIRD – and this is the kicker – CLEANING: The one thing that has always been painful about pet fountains for me is the cleaning. The taking apart and putting back together. We have always had at least two fountains, and with some of the fountains weâve had, cleaning them was a chore. Lots of parts to take apart, clean, replace the filter and put back together. This fountain is SO easy to clean. Fewer parts, easy to put back together, and because of the wireless motor, so much easier to clean without worrying about the power end of a cord getting wet while youâre struggling to take the motor apart for cleaning. This fountain cuts the cleaning time in half at least, and because of the ease of cleaning, Iâve been much better about cleaning more frequently (every two weeks as recommended). For some reason, this fountain also doesnât seem to get as gross as other fountains Iâve had get.FOURTH – Expense – The replacement filters for this are no more expensive than the filters for other fountains, and you can get them auto shipped, which is nice so you donât run out or have to remember to re-order. They are smaller than most of the other fountains filters Iâve used as well.Iâve been surprisingly impressed with this fountain, and have replaced two of my three fountains with the PetLibro so far. When that third (least used) fountain dies, it will be replaced with a PetLibro.

The filters are the Achilles heel of this because they are expensive and should be replaced often. They lost a star for that. Could’ve been smarter about the filters. IE washable, reusable, or?The Base: I didn’t think this would work, I’m not gonna lie. I thought It was a gimmick. I thought the battery would fizzle out in an hour or two. It’s going on four days now without power. It turns itself on when a cat comes close, and back off to save power.Overall: it’s silent. No, really, dead silent. You can’t hear the pump run. You can’t hear the water dripping or bubbling. Nothing but silence. It’s really nice. I know it’s just a glorified watering bowl, but it is really, really nice. Cleaning is a breeze. Refilling is a breeze. This product should win innovative product of the year. I highly recommend.

Y las baterÃas se recargan rápido y duran más de un mes sin necesidad de recarga.Mis gatos ya están acostumbrados a estas fuentes, solo vieron que la puse, fueron a verla, funcionó el sensor de movimiento, salió el agua y bebieron inmediatamente.
