Solid and sturdy, you have to really whack the latches closed, be sure to sand vent edges before use
I first want to note that I bought mine from Warehouse Deals for a significant discount (more than 50% off) for the 15-20lb storm grey carrier. Mine was listed as âUsed – Acceptable – Item has major cosmetic damages but is still usable. Item will come repackaged.â With this, you never know what youâre getting. Iâve seen broken/unusable, and Iâve seen like new… this one was like new! Score!It was repackaged but it had clearly never been put together. The screws and wing nuts were still sealed in their original container taped inside the lid. It had no major cosmetic damage, just some exterior manufacturing remnants on the bottom… I mean this is injection molded plastic, I cut a few off because I am a little OCD, but it was no biggie.I was thrilled for the price I paid. However, I would have been a little disappointed if I had paid full price.The carrier was not difficult to put together, just line it up, put the door in, give the latches a good solid whack, and screw in the screws and wing nuts (note, it came with one extra screw and wing nut which I appreciated). I suspect the latches are why mine was returned. This is key, these donât just snap in easy, you need to really whack them… this is great because I donât want loose, flimsy latches! If they are flush with carrier edges, they are NOT fully snapped on, see pic! This carrier is sturdy, fits together firmly and snugly.This was purchased to replace an older Petmate carrier to transport a 25 lb Maine Coon to the vet. (I know it says 15-20 lbs, but my boy prefers a snug carrier to feel secure and this is definitely large and sturdy enough to hold him without concern). It is a tad thinner than my old carrier of the same variety, but still more than adequate, no complaints.ONLY CON:The only thing I really did not like was something another reviewer mentioned: the interior of the vent holes was sharp. Many pets have anxiety in carriers, and move around or try to sniff the vent holes. My big boy could definitely cut his nose on those sharp vent edges. I took my dremel to them, lightly sanded and voila, problem solved in 5 minutes. If I had paid full price, I would have expected better quality control regarding safety for an item created specifically for pets.But, 5 stars. For what I paid, I am thrilled with my new carrier.

Good quality carrier that has nuts & screws holding top and bottom together
Many carriers now have plastic latches holding the top and bottom together (which can suddenly break, come unlatched etc – a safety problem). This one is made well and with the nuts and screws I know it won’t come apart. Well worth the time spent finding this carrier.

Great size for the $$
Had to buy this for my cat who is about 15 pounds. Even though it is marketed for a smaller dog itâs actually enough room for both of my cats, making it very easy to travel.Is very easy to put together. Just be careful and mindful of the door. I have a cat who literally knows how to open it. There is no way to reinforce it unless you use zip tie which you really donât wanna do in the event that there is an emergency.

Good, but could be better
I got this to carry two cats at a time. They fit great in it BUT together they weigh 21lbs and the area where the handle meets the carrier is struggling a little. Slightly worried that over time of light use that itâll break, as the plastic there is a bit thinner. The rest of the carrier is built solid though. If you have a pet under 20lbs, I think youâd be perfectly fine with this!

I ship cats and kittens all the time – from one end of the country to the other. This is a quality product that I have used in the past. If you want to use it for shipping Air Cargo – you have to put plastic tie warps on each latch – and there are already predrilled holes for them. The plastic latches are sturdy but cannot be trusted for shipping – sometimes they don’t close all the way and with the vibrations of the flight and transporting them, they work lose and the two parts of the crate can separate, spilling the animal unsafely out of the crate. I wish the manufacturer would have also supplied a tight fitting water dish that would attach to the door. The ones available do not fit this crate very well – and sometimes I have to drill holes in the cups and attach them to the door with tie wraps so they don’t fall off in flight. This size is good for an adult cat, or two kittens under 5 months of age. Check the handle too – sometimes they are not all the way inserted into the crate – and may fall off when you pick up the crate with a cat or small dog inside. These crates last forever – made well, and the metal grate is non-corrosive and stays nice and bright.Easy to wash with a hose and some detergent. The price is very reasonable too – compared to pet store pricing on similar sized crates.

Not the greatest quality plastic because it is quite flimsy. Since our purpose is for our two cats that are light itâs ok. I would not attempt to put a chunkier animal in their like a Beagle because it just my bow and the door could come loose.

I do dog and cat rescue and this is a very nice sized crate for either a dog or cat up to 25lb. They can stand in it and move around easily. It is well made and sturdy and will last a long time. I highly recommend

She’s a pretty small pug, but she started to outgrow her old kennel (she sleeps in our bedroom and is into anything given the chance,) but come bedtime, she walks right in and lets us know in the morning when she’s ready to get up. This particular unit allows her a lot of space to nest at night and recharge. Highly recommended, as it is durable for travel too.

El único detalle fueron los tornillos y tuercas que no apretaron lo suficiente, como si el hueco donde va el tornillo estuviera más ancho, y al no ser de la medida no queda totalmente fijo. Supongo que tendré que conseguir otros tornillos y tuercas por mi cuenta para que quede más asegurada.De ahà en fuera estoy muy satisfecha con mi compra, era lo que buscaba en cuanto a color, tamaño y precio.
