The grass grew quick and full. Cat enjoyed munching on the grass.

I am not a green thumb. Not at all. Everything grew well until my mistakes got in the way.I planted the oat grass first. Spread them directly into the planter then topped with a bit more soil. 75% of the seeds I planted grew. At first it did really well and grew pretty fast. And my cats were loving it. Then it started to wilt and die. I suspect this is because I overwatered it and a fungus started on the dirt. Overwatering in Florida can lead to fungus pretty quick.For the catnip. I looked up how to grow it on the internet. I spread the seeds on paper towels. Put another paper towel over the top and spray it with water. Then put it in a ziplock plastic bag and put in in my refrigerator for a few weeks to “cold stratify” it.Every catnip seed sprouted. But I made a mistake and I left the catnip seeds out of the fridge too long before planting and they sprouted into the paper towel. So I had to plant the paper towel. But so far so good. It seems to be growing strong.I’d order this again.

Grass grew like wild fire, the cat nip on the other hand did not fare as well. Planted the whole packet of seed a d only one plant grew.

Quick growing, quality cat grass seeds
I got my seeds late in the evening April 16th 2024 and now April 19th the cat grass has suddenly popped up this morning (which is fantastic because I typically have a black thumb). The seeds are growing in the mixture of about 75% potting soil, 15% Vermiculite and 10% Perlite.I’m making a little aquarium setup which will have a few meal worms/beetles living in one half, I wanted a nice little hiding place for them and will also be transplanting some St John’s Wort or Chamomile in there in a month or two. So far it’s looking like a fantastic start even though it’ll be a few months before everything is fully ready. I’ll be posting pics later if everything goes as planned. I also have 4 cats, so after cold stratifying some seeds those will get transplanted into a planter for my cats to enjoy.

Tried growing it in rock-wool indoors for the cats and it worked great, sprouted within days under the right conditions and stays alive if I forget to water, then bounced back quickly. I have bought it multiple times because my cats beg for it daily.

The catnip germinated surprisingly well, and is a perennial. The cats have already demolished the patches of cat grass, which is an annual, but I will buy more next year.
