Customers say

Customers like the quality, ease of installation, warmth, appearance and water resistance of the paw hoof protector. For example, they mention it’s heavy duty, keeps feet off hot pavement and looks cute. That said, opinions are mixed on stability.

  1. Bo’s Dad

AMAZING! Tried 3 pairs from local petstore before these. These worked perfect!!!
I was beginning to think no dog boots would really work right for my dog. I have not got to take my dog on a long walk yet, but the other dog boots I tired before this did not fit right. Let me just start by saying, you must measure your dog’s feet! Get a sheet of paper and put your dogs paw on it, make sure your dog is standing and the weight is on the paw, so it is the normal size when standing. Mark on the left and right of the paw on the paper and then on the front and the back of the paw. Including the claws. I trimmed my dogs claws a bit, they are perhaps longer than they should be, but I can’t trim too much of I would hit the wick and they bleed all over. But, even with the longer claws, this boot fits perfect and snug. I also LOVE that the boot opens up really wide, so you can wiggle your dogs paw into the boot, all the way to the front of the boot. Do it semi gentle, you don’t want to hurt the dog foot, but feel to make sure the paw and claws are all the way to the front of the boot. Then draw the bottom velco, making it snug, and keeping the boot straight. Then draw the top velcro to secure the boot. Again, make sure you measured your dogs paw, so you get the right size of boot. If the boot is too big or small, it will fall off or not fit. I also love that the top velro is wide, the boots I got from the local pet stores all had a draw string. However, I think it cuts into the dog paw, and also that makes a big loop then to get caught on things. These boots with the double velcro, that is perfect! Does a great job to secure the boot to the dog foot, but also it is comfort and safer. I also love how light weight these dog boots are! They are a thinner material than the others I had, but I like that, as they form to the paw much better. You can get dog socks for winter, that dry fast, as to put on the paws and then inside the boots. If you want the extra warmth, but I think the main thing that is so hard on the dog paws is coming in contact with the direct snow, ice and salt or water. The plastic padding I think is fine, and will protect my dogs paws in these below 0 degree days. My dog does fine on 30 degree days, but these below 0 days, it is too cold for his paws on walks. I have not let my dog run in any dog boots yet, he has his dew claws still and I have read about people whose dogs dew claws got very hurt by dog boots when they ran. So I plan to just use these for walks, so he can go on walks on these cold days. I may also get the dog socks, as I read that they prevent rubbing to prevent any damage to the dew claws. Again, do not just guess on your dog paw size. Measure to get the right size, as the boots will come off if they are not a right fit.

    Protects well
Bought sz 8 for an 80 lb Doberman to wear in the woods when we take her off-leash. She’s 2 years old and doesn’t like stuff on her. Miraculously we got her outside in 20 degrees with snow on the ground wearing these. She couldn’t walk properly but we got her running along in no time at all. She was leaping over tree limbs in the woods. It was as if she felt more comfortable and trusted them. My husband doesn’t like the Velcro. He’s concerned that something will catch on the shoe. But I like how nice and tight we can make them on her legs. They are not waterproof. So we will buy another pair for the snow.

    Very nice product
I got a size 6, for reference, my puppy is 5 months old and probably weighs somewhere in the 40 lbs , they fit perfectly with good enough room but one size bigger would probably have been better for her to grow into. She got used to them pretty fast and surprisingly they’re actually pretty heavy duty and she’s walked in mud and puddles with zero dirt getting to her paws, the booties themselves also weren’t damaged at all after pretty rough usage. However they did slip off a bunch in the grass, so wouldn’t recommend use of these anywhere other than concrete or hard surfaces, she trips on them a lot which makes them fall off but when you tighten and secure them they stay on pretty much until you take them off.

    Dissatisfied
Did not fit properly sizing was wrong said fit large and extra large breed did not fit my Great Dane will not purchase again

  5. I♡myPapillon

Papillion absolutely can’t walk in these
My 12 lb Papillon who is actually pretty used to walking in Boots and does really well, he can’t walk in these at all. And I tried enticing him with chicken even when he saw another dog which always gets him going bananas, he was tripping and he actually fell over and yelped. And yes they are the correct size they are a size one he’s always taking a one in every brand they fit him they are just so hard rubber and it’s almost like Gore-Tex I would say for the rest of the boot. I only ordered a tougher boot because none of the other ones are waterproof we live in Wisconsin it’s now March there is salt and water freezing cold water, like tiny leaks and rivers and all the sidewalks and driveways not to mention actually enormous puddles and all that salt getting into his feet and just the tiny feet that toy breeds have, to be standing and freezing cold water on their walks the whole time is heartbreaking. In a nutshell it’s exactly what it is you see their little legs quivering shaking even with their jacket on. So I’ve tried I’ve sent back so many different boots I’m going to go back to the ones I had before these which weren’t waterproof but they had hard soles protected his feet from all the big huge granny rules of ice salt that that’s everywhere now the water is washing everywhere as everything melts. If you’ve never lived in northern states imagine a glacier melting on the ground you live on over the entire state. And millions of pounds of salt from thousands of miles of sidewalks and highways and driveways and parking structures and ramps and bridges all being flushed everywhere. The other boots his feet were wet and freezing but he could walk in on they were nice they stayed on and protected them from the cuts and abrasions, and the insane amount of pain from a cut with salt in it. I mean their feet get cut from salt itself imagine that. The size of tiny stones by the trillions. Smh. Just wish SO BAD, that just ONE pet company, could create a boot that toy braids can walk in comfortably that’s waterproof and as at least a thin layer of rubber on the bottom to keep their feet dry and from getting caught on salt. I don’t see how this is so hard to do. We can put somebody else’s heart in another person or animal but they can’t make boots for that small dogs can walk in and not get caught up and drenched feet in! So frustrating because this goes on for a good two months in the spring here sometimes longer sometimes a lot of stuff melts in the middle of winter it can be on and off for 6 months out of the year. But it is what it is I’ll just probably have to buy him a pair of those pure rubber rain boots that aren’t breathable at all. The problem is is that Dogs release a lot of heat and oxygen through their feet so you can’t really wrap rub around their feet. And then tighten them with the incredible force needed to keep them boots on. Well I hope this helps other small dog owners.

    This boots work!
I was looking for dogie boots to protect paws from snow and salt for long time. This one is reasonably priced and I was willing to try. My dog kept them and kept his paws dry. All the dog lovers should buy these boots. Some boots are like over 100 dollars per a paw! I love dogs but not a millinonaire! I don’t know how comfortable but my poodle kept them on.
