   Peace of mind while you’re away
   I needed a new automatic cat feeder because one of our cats is on a special diet, so I went with this one because it was available to me for a discount through Vine. I’ll be totally honest and say that I thought the WIFI and app controls were a gimmick: “one more thing that’s pointlessly high-tech – why does everything need to be so complex?” Wow, was I wrong….When the hurricane hit and our house’s power went out, we were on the other side of the world, and we didn’t know how the cat feeders were affected. One of our cats lost 2 pounds within a few weeks – was it that the feeder wasn’t working properly? Was he sick? Stressed (yes, we got someone to take him to the vet)? The neighbor kid that I had asked to take care of them tried his best with checking the other feeder, but I could never be 100% sure that it was still dispensing correctly.With this feeder, I could easily see that all settings had remained in place when the power was restored. I didn’t have to worry that the machine wasn’t working correctly. I knew exactly how much food the cat was getting and how many times per day. I could even adjust it to give more when he seemed hungry. I stand humbled and corrected – the WIFI and app are a fantastic addition!We originally just got the feeders for travel, but we never put them away again, because they make life simpler. Servings are consistently portioned and on time every day. The voice recorder means that you can play a little message to call your cats to eat, as you normally would, even when you aren’t home (they’ll quickly figure out that the machine dispenses, anyway). The best part of all is that the cats no longer associate us with feeding. They no longer yowl at us for food or wake us at unholy hours because they’re hungry. The 4L capacity on this one means that I only occasionally need to refill it, but the fact that the dispenser is clear means it’s obvious when I need to do that without checking inside – a nice feature that I didn’t know I wanted.Bottom line? I highly recommend automatic feeders, and particularly those with WIFI and remote controllability. If that’s what you’re looking for, this one is perfect for you!

   I like that you do not have to set up with Wi-Fi
   I bought this particular unit as it does not require Wi-Fi setup, I’m tired of setting up multiple gadgets on my internet Wi-Fi and risking security of my home. The setup is very similar to most devices with simple up down and set buttons. A little bit of trouble setting up the meal schedule but worked my way through it without much difficulty. I think this will help to keep my dog on the more routine schedule. Appears to function as it should.

   No more worries about the cat having enough food when I’m gone!
   We previously purchased an automatic cat feeder, that was extremely difficult to use so we had to send it back. I saw this one and thought it sounded perfect since I could use it with my smart phone. It was easy to put together. I used the link on the machine to download the app, and I noticed that I couldn’t fine this exact model anywhere. So I had to stick real closely to the little instruction booklet. I think the instructions could have been better. I know it emphasizes that it doesn’t hook up to 5g, but only to 2.5. Well, that doesn’t mean much to me, because I am somewhat illiterate to what that means. So i was unsuccessful at hooking it up to the WiFi since I found out that we have 5 internet and not 2.5. At this point, the instructions should instruct you to connect to your phone’s Bluetooth in that event. My question is why it doesn’t hook up to 5? Anyways, it’s not that important if you have a smartphone because it works great hooked up to that and uses the WiFi through the phone’s Bluetooth. So I finally got that figured out and was a bit easier after that 😜. The app is easy to use and I love the snack option to give extra food besides the scheduled times. Another great feature is the voice recorder. On the phone app, you have the option to play the recording (which is just me calling my cats which I previously recorded), or pressing the snack button and when doing so, the speaker automatically goes off and calls the kitty and dispenses a snack portion. How I love technology! I could have used this on our last trip where my husband left later than I did and was in charge of putting enough food out for the kitties. Well, thankfully we got home a couple days early and we discovered that he didn’t put enough food out!What’s really great about this machine is that if the power goes out, it still runs on the batteries. You will need 3 “D” batteries by the way which work as a back up power source. What a great idea and important in those events of power outage failure especially in the Summer with all the storms we have in the South. The machine uses a usb and must be plugged in but having the batteries as a back up is brilliant! It comes with a desiccant pack which helps keep the food fresh longer, and said it only lasts 30 days. My question is, why isn’t there more in the package with the feeder? They are inexpensive and I’m not sure where to find more for this particular machine. In the meantime, I won’t fill the machine very full so the food doesn’t get stale and if we are gone for a few days, we can fill it up accordingly.Lastly, I’m glad I ordered this and really enjoy the capability of controlling my cats feeding schedule via my phone. This kitty feeder might not be for those who have very little experience with using apps for controlling your gadgets. However, if they are willing to learn, this technology actually makes life easier, and more importantly, keeps your kitties bowl full and your worries at bay knowing that your kitty will always have food whether you are at home or not.

   Tired of feeding the neighborhood cats? Here’s a solution!
   It seems that our kitties have seen fit to invite their friends in the neighborhood over for dinner, and regularly the pet food feeder got emptied nearly every night! At first, I balked at the idea of powering this cat feeder with D-Cell batteries, but sometimes the power goes off, and the kitties would be sad and hungry until someone was able to restart it!Setting this feeder up definitely requires the instruction manual, and it might help if you remember setting an 80s digital watch up! I’ve found it’s better to program the feeding times while you’re at a table rather than where the feeder sits normally. The screen is best read close up so you’re certain about what you’re doing. Setting feeding times for cats is made easy with this device, you can set the portions up, and sooner or later your kitties will know when eating time is! The only downside to this feeder is the lack of an app, it’s just a simple feeder that does what you tell it, and you can’t access its functions remotely.
