Great visibility at night and helps get your pet returned if they wander off.
This has proved to be a great product for my wandering hound dog. Microchips are only useful if someone is willing to take your pet somewhere that has a reader. This collar has gotten my dog returned to me within hours of his escape at least a dozen times in the last year. It is much easier for a good Samaritan to simply dial the number on Gilly’s collar and I have him back in a matter of minutes.I originally was looking for a collar that was reflective because I often have to walk my dog before dawn and I want him to be as visible as possible on the road. But it has helped on our 5-acre property, too. With my headlamp on, his collar lights up from up to 300 feet away. It doesn’t glow on its own; there has to be a light source shining on it to be reflective, but it doesn’t take much light for it to light up.I bought the first collar a year ago wondering how long the lettering on it would stay readable and the reflective material to stay intact. After a year of constant wear, it is still usable but the lettering is getting a little hard to read. So I decided to go ahead and get a new one and I also wanted to get the 1″ wide collar instead of the 3/4″ wide. I bought the 3/4″ inch wide collar based on the neck size adjustments listed. It fit his neck fine, but seemed a little narrow for a 60 pound coon hound. So this time I ordered the 1″ wide collar even though the neck sizes were larger than what he needs. I do like the wider collar but it wasn’t adjustable down small enough so I took the plunge and cut the collar down. I thought I would have to try to resew the end of the webbing onto the slider but it holds just fine just by pushing it through the slider with the main part of the collar. I’ve recycled his old collar for my new rescue dog, a medium-sized lab mix. She is already very reliable about staying in the yard but the hound has always been a problem with slipping through the perimeter fence when he’s left unsupervised for even just a few minutes. And he has lost ID tags off collars several times so having the info on the actual collar has really made a difference.I would definitely recommend this type of collar to any dog owner. Not all dogs will let a stranger catch them when they are lost so a person trying to help get in touch with you would a have a better chance of reading the info off the collar at a distance as opposed to trying to read the tiny printing on an ID tag.

great collars and great customer service!
just ordered my third or fourth of these collars. each one has lasted my dog about a year before i prefer to replace it- doesn’t actually become hard to read, just a bit dirty looking and the reflective part not quite as bright (though still reflective at night when light hits). for reference, he doesn’t swim or get super muddy as some dogs do. he does wear the collar all the time because in case of an emergency in which he was loose/lost, there’s no way he would allow strangers to catch him. and as we all know, a microchip only works if the dog can be taken to get scanned. so having his phone number potentially readable from a distance is extremely important to us. i’ve been very happy with the appearance, quality and endurance of these collars. he’s had one with the metal buckle closure and the rest with the plastic snap-closure… no trouble with either. each time i’ve ordered, the collar arrives quickly and name/phone on it is correct. i have only ordered black embroidered text and in that color, and embroidered, it lasts very very well. on my most recent order i accidentally chose the engraved rather than embroidered text- if you need the collar legible from a distance, please note the embroidered text turns out larger and hence that’s your best choice if you want this collar to help get your pet identified from a distance. when i contacted customer service they were super helpful and so, my 5 stars here are for both product and service. thank you GoTags!

Personalized, but not embroidered
This GoTags collar is Personalized, but not embroidered. There is no ‘engraving’ but it’s ‘printed’ pretty well. We’ll see how long that lasts. Otherwise, all else is the same as I expected therefore good. We previously bought from the other seller, gotogs, that had the ’embroidered’, which is a bit larger font and is definitely a five star rating, love it. But, they didn’t have the BLUE that I wanted for our second dog, so I found this one from goTags.On both, The reflective strip- is GREAT, very very reflective, and strip is sewn in and is not brittle or peeling. The plastic clip in buckle- is secure. The strength of it is good enough for me as I never depend on the ID collar for attaching the leashes. I recommend ALWAYS using a separate collar, choke etc (we love love and use the Starmark Pro-Training Collar), for the leash because if your dog’s leash collar comes off and the dog is gone, you want the ID collar to be still on the dog!!Other seller had the embroidered, which I had previously bought and loved. But, they didn’t have the Blue that I wanted for our second dog, so I found this one from goTags. Gotags loses one star for the actual printed vs the embroidered, and admittedly I almost took off a second star for the use of the deceiving word “engraved”. Both arrived earlier than expected.

Shines Brightly
The reflective area on this collar is my favorite part. When a light is shined on it, it glows and stands out. During the daytime it just looks white. I got this for my black Lab, in case he was ever accidentally outside at night. With his coloring no car would see him, but headlights would make the reflective strip on this collar really stand out. A flashlight or any light source makes it shine. It’s an added safety feature that is just a common sense idea. I’m going to order more for my other dogs, even for the one who is mostly white. The lettering is very clear and easy to read. I got the red collar with black lettering and it was ready in about 10 days and done perfectly. It’s made of a soft material, so more comfortable for my dog’s neck than hard leather collars. Really happy I found this one.

Good collar, printing faded
The color seems well made, but the printing, with our phone number, has faded considerably. The reflective coating is good.
